The listed duration is the maximum along the central path, not the duration from every city. Local circumstances depend on latitude, longitude, elevation and the horizon.
A partial eclipse can cover a large region while the central total or annular path remains narrow. Search a city to find the first locally visible event and all contact times.
When to begin planning
- International total-eclipse trips: 12 to 24 months before the event.
- Regional travel: 6 to 12 months before the event.
- Weather mobility plan: compare climates early, then finalise 3 to 7 days ahead.
- Equipment rehearsal: at least one month ahead, with a final check the week before.
